Kinabalu National Park, with its size, about 754sq km, it is the largest and most popular national park for tourists and locals in Sabah.
The rainforest of Kinabalu National Park is filled with variety of fauna and flora. One of the main attraction for the National Park is the variety of orchids (some say, it's a botanical paradise) available there - beautiful and colorful. Other attraction is, the variety of mammal's species, birds (280+ recorded) and colorful of butterflies (290+ recorded).
The Poring Hot Spring (its part of Kinabalu National Park) main attractions are the natural spring where hot sulfurous water emits from the ground – one may take a bath in it ~ there's a few selection of bathtub to choose from, depends on your needs – family or individual.
The Canopy Walk (consist of a series of walkways suspended from trees above the jungle floor - approximately 60 meters above the ground, not for the faint hearted). – offering a monkey's eye-view of the oldest rainforest in the world. It’s a very interesting and exciting activity to do.

Take a leisurely drive (2 hours) to Nabalu Market at the Crocker Range – the backbone of Borneo. Seasonal fruits/local produces/handicrafts are sold by local Dusuns who live at the foothills of their sacred mountain.
Arrive at Kinabalu Park, enjoy the cool and refreshing mountain air, if the day is clear a majestic view of Mount Kinabalu, the highest mountain in South East Asia. Proceed for a guided walk along the nature trails with the park naturalist. While walking listen to the sounds of the jungle and observe nature's plants, trees, orchids and butterflies. Kinabalu Park boasts an estimate of 4,500 species of plants which includes 1,500 species of orchids, 77 of which are endemic to Kinabalu. The park also supports 289 species of birds and 290 different types of butterflies.
Crossing the mountain range to Poring Hotspring takes about an hour – passing by vegetables farms, roadside stalls and smaller interior towns of Sabah.
At Hotspring, an uphill walk through the Borneo tropical rainforest to the 40 metre high tree-top Canopy Walkway will bring you back to nature. The chirping calls of birds and insects will surely relieve the stress of hectic city life. Alternatively, less strenuous, explore the waterfall or a dip in the sulphur rich water tub or visit the nearby Butterfly Farm. Lunch will be at Fairy Garden. (set Lunch)
Next, visit the Agro Flower Nursery or the Mountain Garden at Kinabalu Park where some of the botanical wonders of Kinabalu, such as pitcher plants, orchids and ferns can be seen. Return to Kota Kinabalu late afternoon.
